1. Pixar Said No To GI Joe
Pixar was denied the use of the name GI Joy by Hasbro because they found out the GI Joe doll was going to be blown up by Sid. Instead, they went for army men. Wow, long live GI Joe!
2. '95 Was A Good Year
Considering that the original Toy Story was released in 1995, the number "95" appears quite often throughout all three movies in reference to that year. That was definitely a good year for Toy Story.
3. Not For The Big Screen
Toy Story 2 was originally planned to be an hour long sequel that would have had its premiere on home video. Thank goodness that didn't happen.
4. Pizza Planet Delivery Truck Cameos
This Pizza Planet delivery truck deserves some kind of award or something. It has appeared in all three of the Toy Story films and in all Pixar films except The Incredibles. We're sure it would have made it into The Incredibles if it could fly...can it?
5. It Wasn't Pizza Planet
Speaking of Pizza Planet, Pizza Putt was supposed to be it's original name. It was meant to be a combination between a Pizzeria and a mini-golf course. We're glad they went with the "planet" because that crushes a mini-golf course any day.
6. Don't Those Books Look Familiar?
The books on the shelf in Andy's room are composed of the names of Pixar's short films such as Knick Knack and Adventures of Andre and WallyB. Also, some of the authors are named after Pixar staff. Way to keep it in the family.
7. And The Winner Is...
Toy Story 2 is only one of three Disney movies to win Best Picture at the Golden Globes. The other two that won are The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Classics.
8. Sorry, You're Not Barbie
The Toy Story character of Little Bo Beep was originally meant to be a Barbie doll. We still think she's cute, though.
9. You Are A Toy...That's It?
"You Are A Toy" was said to be the original name for the movie. That would not have been nice, these are more than toys. They have hopes, and dreams, and stuff!
10. The Original Andy
The character of Andy is named after a Brown University Professor named Andries Van Dam. He is also a computer science and animation pioneer who actually taught many of the makers of Toy Story.
11. Where Credit Is Due
The first Toy Story was the only Toy Story film to have full opening credits. After that, we're sure they knew who they were and it went without saying.
12. Tom Hanks & Tim Allen Duo
Toy Story 2 was the very first sequel that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have starred in. We think they work really well together bringing Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
13. You Are Way Too Expensive For Us
Pixar and Tim Allen initially wanted Jim Carrey to be the voice of Buzz Lightyear, but they found that they couldn't afford him due to the film's low budget. What, are you made out of diamonds, Mr. Carrey?
14. Bad Career Mistake
Billy Crystal was offered to be the voice of Buzz Lightyear, but he rejected it. After seeing the film he went on to say that it was the biggest mistake of his career. We agree, but hey it wasn't meant to be.
15. Buzz Lightyear's Other Name
Lunar Larry was Buzz Lightyear's original name. We most certainly prefer the name Buzz Lightyear, anything else would have been weak.
