Why Beyoncé's New Album is a Game-Changer

Bey just dropped a new album out of nowhere and the world will never be the same. There's literally never been an album quite like this in history.

It's Ruining Everyone's Top 10 Lists

Oh, hey Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Time, and every other magazine that thought they were done compiling their 'top albums' and 'top songs' of 2013, Beyoncé's real sorry that she went and screwed that all up for you. (not sorry)

Beyoncé Has a New Album?!

Yeah, you may not have heard, but Beyoncé secretly released a new album on December 13th, 2013. The new album, appropriately titled 'Beyoncé' might be her best yet. Why is it going to be a game-changer?

No One Expected It

The self-titled Beyoncé album was recorded and produced in total secrecy. Then suddenly out of nowhere, with no promotion or warning, it dropped on December 13th. Could an album with no marketing behind it make any sales?

It Is the Fastest Selling Album in iTunes History

As it turns out, the album quickly broke records becoming the fastest selling album in the history of iTunes, selling 80,000 copies in just the first three hours, and 430,000 copies on it's first day. By December 16th the album was #1 in 104 countries.

It's Literally Making Kids Failing Finals

Beyoncé released her album on December 13th, right before most high school and college kids have finals. A number of students took to the internet to declare they were unable to study for their exams because Bey just dropped an album before finals.

Recording Family Style

The 'Beyoncé' album was recorded Summer-camp style in The Hamptons, Blue Ivy, Jay Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and The Dream were there every day of the recording process, which included family dinners and activities such as swimming and bike rides.

It Contains 17 New Music Videos

'Beyoncé' is a digital album and it comes with a DVD containing 17 new music videos. That's right, there are 17 new Beyoncé music videos.

She Sampled Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Beyoncé samples Nigerian feminist author Chimamanda Adichie on her new album. Who says pop music can't be intellectual?

This Headline

Sorry Pope, you probably wouldn't have been Person of the Year if Time had known about Beyoncé dropping a new album.

In Summary

This post says it all.
